Kumar Shivendu joined the Software Heritage team as a Google Summer of Code intern in 2021, mentored by Valentin Lorentz and Vincent Sellier, where he designed and built Elasticsearch-based repository and metadata search for the Software Heritage archive. He was also a GSoC mentor in 2022. Between 2022 and 2023, he contributed lister and loader support for Fedora, Hex.pm, Gogs, and Bioconductor, along with improvements to the CodeMeta generator. He continues to be obsessed with open source and search and is currently a core engineer at Qdrant, working on vector search infrastructure.
