About Me
Nicole advocates for the open-source world, both on and off the clock.
She spent five years editing Superuser and directing content for Intel’s Open Ecosystem team. A journalist with degrees from San Francisco State and Università degli Studi di Firenze, she balances strategy with grassroots grit. She’s the type to hand out cookie recipes encoded with the Four Freedoms or don a plushy penguin suit for the FSFE without breaking character.

Her project, Resiliency Maps—an open-source toolkit for emergency navigation—evolved from her humanitarian work with OpenStreetMap since 2015.
A San Francisco, California native, she’s spent about half her life in Italy, which means she’s always too hungry for dinner at eight and loves the theater but never comes late.
